Life & Work with Bree Partington of San Diego- Linda Vista

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bree Partington

Hi Bree, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in a small town called Woodstock outside of Chicago (ever seen Groundhog Day? That was filmed in my hometown!). Inspired by my sister’s path, I found myself drawn to San Diego, where I fell in love after a single visit and decided to make it my home. I’ve always had an interest in architecture, landscaping, and different style houses (which started during my first trip to France in high school).
I bought my first fixer upper home in California, and I had so much fun remodeling it, I knew I wanted to do it again. So even though I was working full time in a corporate job, I decided to get my real estate license for the next fixer upper.
I eventually decided to quit my corporate job and get into real estate full time! I absolutely love working with first time home buyers and walking them through the home buying process. I love working with people who buy fixers and want my input on remodeling.

I just love helping people make their dreams a reality!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Working in real estate is like riding a roller coaster. There’s ups and downs, and sometimes even loops!

The real estate market changed significantly in 2022 when mortgage interest rates went from 3% to 7%!
Hardly anyone wanted to sell their homes and lose their low interest rate, and few could afford (or want) to buy with 7% interest rates.
Keeping a positive attitude and staying consistent is necessary for being successful in real estate.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a residential real estate agent based in San Diego, CA. I love working with first time home buyers. I remember what buying my first home was like: stressful, overwhelming, scary and I had a million questions about the process.
By keeping my own experience in the back of my mind, it helps me excel at walking clients thoroughly through the buying/selling process. I want to make sure they are comfortable and understand their decisions. This is a really exciting time in their lives, and my job is to make them less stressed and overwhelmed and feeling excited and confident.

I am proud every time I help someone accomplish their dream of buying a home. I get to be a part of something big! There are a lot of real estate agents in San Diego, and I am honored they chose to work with me. I don’t take that for granted,

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I am not a huge risk taker. But I believe there is a saying ‘ the bigger the risk, the bigger the reward’. Maybe one day I’ll step out of my comfort zone and give it a try.
