Today we’d like to introduce you to Bri Williams
Hi Bri, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, I have loved creating different types of art such as painting, crochet, embroidery, and making clothing. I found a passion for crystals and I wanted to incorporate them in my daily life by carrying them with me wherever I went. I started wire wrapping in 2019, and soon after I was encouraged to start selling my creations online. I have created wire wrapped sun catchers, polymer clay crystal sculptures, jewelry, and apparel that I now have begun selling at markets around San Diego this year.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Although I have been creating for years, I do feel as though I am still at the beginning of my journey. I am so grateful for the people I have met who have connected with my art, and I am very thankful to have an encouraging support system. This year I stepped out of my comfort zone of selling exclusively online, to being a vendor at markets. It has been a learning experience, and I’m glad I have started putting myself out there because I have already made incredible friendships.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My passion for crystals inspires me to make art that people can wear and decorate their spaces with. Over the years, my creations have evolved, and I have focused on clay, wire, and also textile art such as ice dye tie dye. Recently I have been most proud of my wire wrapped crystal sun catchers.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
It is a risk to put art into the world, because there is no guarantee how it may be received. To me, the risk of failure or judgement does not outweigh the possibility of creating connections and sharing my passion with the world.
