Today we’d like to introduce you to Chloe Drysdale.
Hi Chloe, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! I’m Chloe.
I’ve always been drawn to storytelling, not just as an art but as a way to make sense of life. Some stories entertain, some educate, and some heal—I strive to create work that does all three.
As a freelance video editor and content producer, I work with influencers, brands, and creatives to craft videos that make an impact. Whether it’s a YouTube series, a viral Reel, or a personal brand story, I love taking raw footage and shaping it into something that moves people. But storytelling isn’t just my career—it’s also deeply personal to me.
I grew up in a world that could have made me bitter. I know what it feels like to carry the weight of a difficult past and still try to create something beautiful out of it. Instead of letting my experiences make me jaded, I chose to turn them into something powerful. That’s why I started Breaking Jaded, a podcast with my mom.
My mom is a recovering addict. Our story isn’t clean-cut or easy to tell, but that’s exactly why we share it. Breaking Jaded is about healing, breaking generational cycles, and proving that your past doesn’t define you. It’s raw, honest, and sometimes messy—just like real life. Every episode, we open up about trauma, addiction, resilience, and what it takes to choose growth when bitterness would be easier.
At the same time, I’ve built my career around the same thing: telling real stories that connect with people.
I specialize in videography and video editing.
Video editing, much like podcasting, is about crafting a narrative—taking raw moments and shaping them into something people feel. I love being part of that process, whether it’s helping a creator grow their audience or a brand tell its story in a way that resonates.
I’m continuing to grow my editing business, working with creators, brands, and entrepreneurs who want to take their content to the next level. And at the same time, I’m pouring more into Breaking Jaded, hoping it reaches the people who need it most.
Because at the end of the day, we all have a story to tell. Some of us just need help putting it into words—or in my case, into video.
If you’re looking for a passionate video editor who cares about storytelling or want to check out Breaking Jaded, I’d love to connect.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey has been anything but smooth, but I wouldn’t change it for anything.
Stepping into freelancing and entrepreneurship meant walking away from stability and figuring things out on my own. I had to learn how to price my work, find clients, and advocate for myself—all while battling the doubt that comes with putting yourself out there in such a competitive space.
Beyond the business challenges, my personal journey has shaped who I am. Growing up with a parent in addiction, I learned early on how to be independent, but I also had to unlearn a lot—especially when it came to trusting myself and allowing success to feel deserved. Starting Breaking Jaded with my mom was a huge step in that healing process. It’s proof that cycles can be broken, stories can be rewritten, and healing is possible—even in places you never expected.
I still face challenges, but I’ve realized that every struggle has taught me something valuable. Whether it’s learning how to balance client work, deal with imposter syndrome, or take the risks that growth requires, I’ve become stronger, more confident, and more intentional with my work.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in YouTube & Social Media Editing – Creating scroll-stopping, high-quality content that keeps audiences engaged. Short-Form Content (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) – Helping brands and creators go viral with storytelling-driven editing. Branded & Business Videos – Giving companies the visual edge they need in today’s digital world.
What sets me apart is my ability to create content that feels real and emotionally resonant. I don’t just cut clips together—I shape narratives that draw people in, keep them engaged, and leave a lasting impression. I bring a creative and intentional approach to every project.
Beyond video editing, I also co-host Breaking Jaded, a podcast I created with my mom about healing, growth, and breaking free from the past. It’s raw, honest, and deeply personal. I’m incredibly proud of this project because it allows me to use storytelling in a different way—giving people a space to feel heard and understood.
At the core of everything I do—whether in video production or podcasting—I aim to create content that inspires, connects, and tells a story that matters.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
I won’t pretend I have it all figured out—I’m still on this journey myself. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: just start.
It’s easy to get caught up in perfection, comparison, and self-doubt, thinking you need more experience, better equipment, or the perfect strategy before putting yourself out there. But waiting for the “right time” will only hold you back. The best way to grow is to do the work, learn as you go, and trust that you’ll improve with time.
Also, don’t be afraid to charge for your skills—even when you’re just getting started. Your time and creativity have value. Find people who appreciate that, and don’t undersell yourself just because you’re new.
Most importantly, stay true to what makes you unique. In a world full of content creators, businesses, and freelancers, your story, your perspective, and your voice are what set you apart. Lean into that.
