Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Kirmsse.
Hi Christine, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a Registered Nurse originally from New Jersey and I moved to California to begin travel nursing. Travel nursing sharpened my nursing skills and introduced me to so many new people. What I didn’t expect was how much I’d bond with the nurses I met on each new contract. On our days off, we’d grab coffee, head to a pilates class, or just hang out and vent about the challenges of night shift and nursing in general. We’d vent, we’d laugh, and we all carried this quiet pride in being able to say, “We’re all nurses.” when we walked into a room. It started to feel like something more than friendship — it felt like community. And I realized we all needed more of that.
That’s where the idea for Daisy Social Club began. I wanted to create a space where nurses could gather not just for rest, but for restoration — to reconnect with themselves and with each other outside of the hospital walls. I wanted to create something that didn’t exist yet: a space just for nurses, where we could take care of ourselves.
Looking back, I believe I also started Daisy Social Club as a response to something I felt deeply in my own life: burnout. As a nurse, I experienced how exhausting and isolating the profession can be. It was comforting to be with other nurses who deeply understood me.
The name “Daisy” was intentional. It’s inspired by the DAISY Award, one of the highest honors a nurse can receive- given to those who demonstrate extraordinary compassion and clinical excellence. Every nurse knows what the DAISY Award represents: care that goes above and beyond, often unseen by the world but never by the patient or their family, and I wanted to carry that same spirit into the heart of this community. Daisy Social Club is for the nurses who give everything — a place to give a little back to themselves.
What started as a small gathering of nurses in Los Angeles has grown into a movement. We host monthly wellness events that blend community, wellness, and recovery among nurses. Brands began reaching out to support us, and our events quickly turned into celebrations of everything nurses deserve but rarely get: joy, rest, support, and connection.
Now, Daisy Social Club isn’t just an event series — it’s a community of nurses redefining what self-care looks like in our profession.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest challenges has been keeping up with how quickly Daisy Social Club has grown — but honestly, it’s the best kind of challenge to have. What started as a small, casual idea among friends has turned into something much bigger, with real momentum and real opportunities to impact nurses’ lives. Balancing the creative side of dreaming up new events with the operational side of executing them has definitely pushed me to grow as a leader and entrepreneur.
At the same time, I’m still working full-time as a Registered Nurse and building my platform as a content creator, so learning to balance it all while pursuing my passion has been its own journey. It’s a constant learning curve, but it’s also been incredibly exciting! Every new challenge is just a sign that the vision is working, and that I’m building something truly meaningful for nurses in our community.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
