Today we’d like to introduce you to Diane Hilz
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Our only daughter, Natalie attended Rancho Buena Vista High School and joined the color guard program. To support her we joined the many parents that help to make the program successful the “Ranch Hands”, For the next 4 years, Sean and I worked as roadies, we built field props for the field shows, the shows we helped with are “The Rose”, “Hope”, and “In Isolation”, Covid cancelled her senior year of marching band. We packed and unpacked the instruments and props, transported them to the competition and back to the school, helped the students get on and off the field to perform. Doing this we met many parents that loved the program as much as we do, and this is where the concept for the love of music and to pay homage to the backstage crew came from.
We opened our brewery in August of 2024, our goal was to make high quality beer, have a taproom where you can drink that beer and listen to great music. We have a stage with top tier equipment so, live bands can come plug in and play. Purchasing the sound equipment was really important because we wanted to have a place that musicians enjoyed playing at our Venue. We can also offer private events for weddings parties and fundraisers.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This is our first business, and it took us 6 years to make it happen. From both of us taking the Brew Tech program at TCI MiraCosta College. To then working in the industry for a couple of years. We really did our research when it went into the planning, this included education, researching the products and equipment we use in the brewery, to even hiring the right staff with the right experience. It wasn’t always easy waiting for things to fall in place, but we made it happen.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
