Today we’d like to introduce you to Ethan Williams.
Hi Ethan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started off working at a party rental company after I first finished high school. But, when covid hit this obviously affected my job as parties are large gatherings which was the main ban, so I was let go and looking for a new job. I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do but found myself watching a lot of these detailing videos on YouTube and Instagram. So, I began gathering all the necessary supplies and started working on friends’ and families’ cars. I had a kind of slow start just due to the fact that I didn’t have enough confidence in myself. This is when I had started working at another job at a pudding shop here in San Diego. There I was able to work closely with the owner and was able to learn a lot about running a business. As I was working there, I was growing my business and learning all I could about running a business, and eventually got big enough to stop working there and just do detailing. Now I detail Full Time and am looking to keep on growing!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Gaining trust and respect from the people of San Diego. A lot of people do bad business and don’t learn all the proper steps to take in their business, so building that trust was big. Also just getting customers at all and showing them the value of the service, I offer.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We do mobile detailing all over San Diego. So, we go to you wherever that may be! We do Full interior and exterior detailing, as well as paint correction, pet hair removal, odor removal, etc. We don’t necessarily specialize in on subject, but interior details are our most popular package. I’m most proud of the fact that I built this business all on my own at such a young age. What separates me from the rest is our customer service and the amount of care we put into taking care of each vehicle. We will make sure you are 100% satisfied before leaving your home or workplace.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
That you have to find a way to be able to make it through whatever life throws your way, and that you can never depend on a job 100%. The best way in my opinion is becoming your own boss in whatever field that may be because nothing is set in stone.
