Hello FlowerWalkDaily, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Where to start? Well, recently, I’ve been through a lot of turmoil in my life and found peace in the “outdoors” of San Diego. Whether it be walking concrete for miles or driving to find the hidden gem trails, I made a point of putting on sneakers and racking up steps. While on my walks, deep in thought, I found myself distracted but all the creative ways nature showed up. And so, I started taking pictures with my phone. I’d stop, interrupted in my spiraling thoughts, snap a few photos, and move on. It was cathartic; it helped ground me to the here and now. It also loaded up the space on my phone. So, I decided one day to start an Instagram page as an ode to all of my photos on my walks. In addition to these pictures, I add a daily musing to tickle anyone’s fancy for a moment. I’ve started an Etsy for kicks, though has sold nothing. And I only had 14 followers at the time of this interview, and that is 14 more than I need to keep going. This page is for me to make something beautiful from all my ruminations. Because at the end of the day, the most important thing to remember is no matter what is happening in your life, always take time to stop and smell the flowers.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There were days I wasn’t sure if I could post; you see, I made a commitment to post once a day. Once a day, I’d take a moment to revisit the flowers from my walks that helped me relax, and some days, it has been hard to think up anything reflective in a constructive way. But I remember it’s a fleeting moment and that frees the creative juices.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am known for nothing, and I think what sets me apart is I am just that–no one. Yet I still create because the creation is beautiful unto itself with or without an audience.

How do you define success?
Waking up with at least one hope for the day and going to bed with at least one success. If you can do that, you’re winning at life.
