Life & Work with Gwen Martin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gwen Martin.

Gwen, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I moved to San Diego in 2009. I was a food lover, and I loved to discover new restaurants. I’m a writer by trade, so it seemed a good fit that as I discovered San Diego’s restaurant scene, I wanted to document each experience. Gradually, I’ve moved into more of a lifestyle page as life has changed.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I am not a “professional” influencer, so making my page a career was never in the cards. I have a day job as a technical writer. That being said, I do treat my pages as a business, and I am very careful to only post relevant content.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am known for my family-friendly content. Generally, I review something based on how appropriate it is for parents with young children. I always want to know where is appropriate (and not) to bring my child, so I feel this is important information. I always try to feature events for families in San Diego, with an eye on budget and convenience.
