Today we’d like to introduce you to Janine Haynes.
Hi Janine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Janine and I started out as an overweight woman in my 40’s with lots of health issues. I was diabetic with high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I had topped the scales at 250 lbs. I knew I needed to make changes quick when my Dr told me I was within months of having a stroke or worse. I turned my life around with diet and exercise changes. I am now a fitness instructor and personal trainer helping others reach their goals for a healthier life. I have lost 100 lbs and reversed all my heath issues.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been an easy road to get where I am today. I needed GLP1 meds to assist my journey. Many think that is cheating but in reality many people have become insulin resistant due to poor diet and lack of activity. That was me. Now these meds are not a miracle fix but a tool to aid in weight loss and blood sugar control. I had to make drastic changes to my diet and calorie intake as well as activity levels in order to reach my goal. Along the way I have learned portion control and healthy eating habits.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
In am a fitness instructor and teach Aqua aerobics. I specialize in women over the age of 40 as an online personal trainer. I am proud of my progress so far and look forward to continuing to progress in my own health journey. I feel what sets me apart from other personal trainers is that I went from fit to unhealthy and back to fit. Most personal trainers have been fit their entire lives. I know what my clients are dealing with first hand and what the bumps in the road look like. This makes it easier to relate to my clients.
