Life & Work with Kandace Loftis of East County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kandace Loftis.

Hi Kandace, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my Real Estate career in Coeur’d Alene Idaho. My husband and I left San Diego in 2015 for a better job opportunity in Idaho for my husband. As I was battling seasonal depression (which I had no idea was a real thing until BAM! I had it) I thought I needed to figure a way to help my husband support our family. As I watched the small town we were living in quickly grow I figured the best career choice for me would be to start a career in real estate. It was very difficult for a long time but I have been determined all along. It took a tough 11 months until I sold my first property and made my first commission.
My husband supported me pushed me and cheered me along through the highs and lows. Before the COVID lockdown we decided to take another risk and move our family back to San Diego. I knew in my heart I could take my newly acquired craft and make the most of my career back in my hometown. I found the most supportive broker and I have learned so many vital lessons about building my business and creating lasting relationships with my clients.
After my husbands sudden and unexpected death in December of 2022, i wanted to give up on everything. I lost the will to go on.
Fast forward to today after all the emotional and body work I’ve had I am able to cope and I feel a stronger drive than ever before to be a better mother, business woman, community member all because I want to continue the journey I had been on with my best friend and continue our legacy. It gives me focus it gives me my reason to live again. Thank you for listening to my story!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In the beginning it was very tough. I didn’t know anyone and I was a transplant in a completely different environment that felt foreign to me.
Working every day without pay for 11 months was painful.
I had 2 young children under the age of 3 I was taking to and from between Idaho and Washington because I was so eager to learn how to make a living selling real estate.
I felt lost in my career choice and wasn’t able to articulate what I needed to succeed.
I went through so many teams and brokerages.
Lost hope after I lost my husband.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a residential real estate professional who has built my craft around helping first-time homebuyers invest their money with intention and long-term vision. Over time, my work has evolved into a brand focused on empowering blue-collar men and women to use real estate as an additional avenue for financial security and income growth.

What I’m most proud of isn’t just the transactions it’s the journey. I’ve pulled myself out of some of the darkest seasons of my life while continuing to provide for my sons, create reliable lead sources, purchase my first investment property, and steadily build a growing real estate portfolio.

What truly sets me apart is persistence. It may sound cliché, but it’s been hard-earned. I haven’t always been consistent, and I’ve wanted to quit more times than I can count but I never did. I know the business I’m building has the power to support my goals and create lasting stability for my family. Even after losing my husband, my best friend, my safe place, and my biggest supporter, I remain focused and committed to building the future we dreamed of together.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
The best way to work with me is through real estate! Whether you’re buying your first home or looking to invest. I’m always open to collaborating with people who value hard work, community, and long-term growth. And support doesn’t always have to be transactional, sharing my name, my story, or my work truly means everything to me.
