Today we’d like to introduce you to Kun Qian

Hi Kun, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Our journey started with one key mission: enabling local businesses to thrive in the digital world of today. Having spent a few years at TikTok and other tech companies, Kun watched how online media could sometimes greatly help and harm businesses and individuals alike. On his side, William acquired rich sales experience on e-commerce platforms like eBay and Facebook Marketplace, while keeping servers running at IBM polished his technical skills.
January 2024 marked the official operation of W and K Technology, LLC. Initially, we provided services in website design and development to a host of local and domestic businesses, including law firms, auto stores, and sports leagues. As the year progressed, we put our heads together for other digital services: SEO, digital advertising, e-commerce solutioning, and problem-solving for very niche markets.
In the most saturated marketplace of digital service providers, W and K Tech is reaching for differentiation by means of very modern and sleek online presences for small businesses. We put a great emphasis on supporting local sellers in their online visibility. Keeping a close eye on industry trends and making use of AI technologies being integrated into our everyday processes allows us to offer modern solutions. New and dynamic, the company is seizing opportunities to leverage its expertise and contribute to the success of the businesses it serves.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Building our business has been a journey filled with both challenges and learning opportunities. One of the most transformative aspects has been shifting our mindset to be fully committed to serving people in need. This commitment has propelled us to constantly improve and adapt.
Initially, one of our biggest hurdles was a lack of knowledge in outreach and online marketing. We started with very little understanding of how to effectively reach out and connect with potential clients. To overcome this, we embraced cold calling as our primary method of outreach, making countless calls to establish those crucial first connections. As we evolved, we significantly enhanced our skills in both outreach and online advertising, which has enabled us to generate inbound leads effectively. This hands-on approach not only helped us find the clients we are now proud to serve but also taught us invaluable lessons about the market and our business model.
Each obstacle we encountered has been turned into a stepping stone. By taking action and learning from each experience, we’ve refined our processes and improved our execution. Every iteration brings us closer to perfection, enhancing our ability to serve our clients better and grow our business. It’s about persistence, learning from mistakes, and continuously striving to do better.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
W and K Tech specializes in bringing about new inventions in digital solutions to suit the unique needs of our various clients. From website design and app development to the latest in digital advertising, we combine an array of expertise to drive home impactful, measurable results. What truly distinguishes us is the ability to meld bold creativity with the most advanced technology so that our clients are always one step ahead in today’s competitive digital environment.

Before building W and K Tech, I used to work full-time for TikTok, having lots of hands-on experiences with both B2B and B2C products such as TikTok Creator Marketplace and TikTok Series, where I deeply developed an understanding of e-commerce and online monetization. I also had the privilege of building applications for millions of daily active users, whereby I honed skills in user behavior analysis and implementing success metrics for websites and mobile applications.

My partner, William Burns, adds a diverse background to our team. His experience ranges from managing medical labs to managing server operations at IBM, which uniquely positions him to link technical expertise with customer-focused solutions. As a sales manager, William plays an extremely important role in securing new clients, accurately discerning their requirements, and ensuring that sales and customer care function smoothly.

What we pride on most is embracing the challenges and being fearless to explore emerging technologies and diverse opportunities that come our way. This is how we have been able to provide result-driven services to always exceed the expectations of our clients. At WandK Tech, we provide more than just digital solutions; we build partnerships that create avenues for growth and innovation so that our clients can achieve their goals in this fast-paced and ever-evolving digital world.

What were you like growing up?
I grew up in a small town in China, where my passion for computers and information technology ignited when I got my first computer at home in 2000. I’ve always been introverted, finding joy in exploring the endless possibilities of technology and problem-solving.

William, on the other hand, was born in Chicago and raised in a farm town in Indiana. He grew up surrounded by nature, enjoying outdoor adventures with friends. His extroverted personality made him a natural at connecting with people and thriving in social settings, which contrasts with my quieter, introspective nature. Together, our diverse personalities and interests create a complementary balance in our personal and professional lives.
