Maddison, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey started in Buffalo, NY, where I honed my skills in business and sales from my entrepreneur mother and father.
I moved to Chicago for college, and a job transfer brought me to sunny San Diego ten years ago. It was while working out at a local gym (performance 360) that fate intervened – I met my incredible business partner, Natasha. We both saw an opportunity at Foundation Escrow, and together, we built the powerhouse SD Coastal team.
Fast forward seven years, and we’re consistently recognized as one of the top escrow teams in Southern California. It’s a testament to hard work and genuine passion for what we do. In this business, finding a mentor is invaluable. Instead of reinventing the wheel, I learned from successful people and adapted their strategies.
But success isn’t built on just hard work. My approach centers around three core pillars: leading with a focus on contribution, giving back to the community, and authentically connecting to build lasting relationships and partnerships. These are the cornerstones that have gotten me where I am today.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely, the road hasn’t always been smooth. Real estate, like any entrepreneurial journey, is full of ups and downs.expand_more It’s the consistency and hard work you put in that keeps you going. That’s what makes it such an incredible experience – witnessing the market shift seemingly overnight and then having to adapt your tools and strategies to navigate those changes.
I vividly remember the gut-wrenching decision to leave the security of my steady sales job for a 100% commission role in real estate. While I knew deep down it was the right move, there was no denying the initial struggle. That fight, that determination to succeed, became the fuel that propelled me forward in the beginning. And let me tell you, I’m grateful for every stumble along the way. Those falls made me stronger, sharper, and ultimately better equipped to handle the challenges I face today.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As the Business Development Manager at Foundation Escrow, I play the role of outside sales, bringing in new deals and growing our business. I’m known for going above and beyond to add value to my clients’ businesses. I see myself as a strategic partner, someone they can consistently rely on to help them achieve their goals and navigate the escrow process with confidence.
What truly sets me apart is my abundance mindset. I believe that success is a rising tide that lifts all boats and that giving back is essential to living a fulfilling life. This philosophy translates into genuine connections with my clients – they know I’m always in their corner, dedicated to their success.
I’m incredibly proud of the Affiliate of the Year awards and nominations I’ve received throughout my career. But what truly motivates me is the ability to connect with people on a deeper level and leverage my expertise to make a real difference. That’s my superpower – giving my all to help others succeed.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those just starting.
For anyone just starting their journey, my biggest piece of advice is to find your ‘why.’ What is your purpose? What drives you to get out of bed every day and give it your all? Once you have that clear vision, you can channel it into showing up, first and foremost, for yourself. A wise mentor once told me to take emotion out of decision-making. Ground yourself in your ‘why,’ and let that guide your path.
This industry requires hustle and consistency. Embrace the daily grind, and remember, the sky truly is the limit. The more you put in, the more you reap – not just financially but also in the satisfaction of helping others achieve their dreams. And that’s where the real magic happens.
