Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Filler
Hi Natalie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I knew I wanted to be a hairstylist since the age of 7. I grew up in a military family so had the opportunity to move around – ultimately going to High School in Australia. I became a hairstylist in 1993 and still work behind the chair. Im approaching 50 and realize how fast time flies. I’m currently working on living an intentional life that includes 5 different, new experiences monthly. I call that my 5 things for living, which includes a Physical activity, an activity, a creative activity, a new food/restaurant and a give back/volunteer. My birthday is in July so since July of 2024 I have been having a great time!!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road. Struggles include, divorced parents at a young age, relocating to a new Country, death of my Dad at the age of 17, Mother with mental health struggles. I became a single Mom at the age of 23 and basically raised my Son alone.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have been a hairstylist for the last 32 years. During that time I have established an amazing clientele filled with people of all ages and stages. I love to connect with people and help make people feel beautiful.
How do you think about luck?
I would say that Luck was on my side when I started to really build my business in 2000. Otherwise its been hard work. haha
