Today we’d like to introduce you to Olga Godoy.
Hi Olga, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The fine art of sewing was passed on to me by my mother. At sixteen, I created my first piece: a lovely formal dress for a birthday party. The discovery of what I love to do led me to begin my formal education as a dressmaker, learning various techniques of haute couture and pattern. Later in life, I took on the role of haute couture teacher. Thanks to the great team of 9 seamstress, we have had the opportunity to help more than 600 brides in the last year.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
At the beginning, newly married and expecting my first child, I worked from my home garage. During the first few years, it was difficult to navigate between raising my children at home and taking care of each bride.

sewing is not just a skill; it is a search for perfection, a way of adding to the beauty of the sacred moments in life. “Most brides come to me with a beautiful dress. My job is to make it perfect.”

What I’m most proud of is being able to provide work for mothers who, like me in my early days, have children they are raising. I offer them flexible hours so they can care for their children.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am a third generation seamstress, my mother and grandmother were also seamstresses.
