Life & Work with Ravit Solomon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ravit Solomon.

Ravit Solomon

Hi Ravit, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I’ve always been passionate about art, balancing my time between being a visual artist and running my creative business. But at heart, I’m an artist who loves bringing visions to life. A key project that reflects this passion is my “Starlett” exhibition, which started with a significant personal discovery during meditation in 2017—I realized my spirit animal is the flamingo. This led to the creation of “Flamingo Planet,” the first painting I made for this series, though it isn’t the first scene in Starlett’s story.

In “Flamingo Planet,” Starlett is depicted relaxing on a flamingo floatie in a lake of honey, surrounded by dancing flamingos. Each painting in the Starlett series is very personal to me, representing different life lessons and moments of growth. Although I didn’t paint them in the order of Starlett’s journey, each one is a chapter in a bigger story.

I believe that if we can imagine something, it must exist somewhere in the vast universe. With Starlett, I explore this idea through art, inviting viewers into a universe of endless possibilities. This project showcases the power of art to unlock imagination and encourage everyone to discover more about themselves.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey as an artist hasn’t always been smooth. There have definitely been some ups and downs along the way. Having a studio space has always been a big motivator for me; it’s where I feel most driven to create. However, balancing painting with other work responsibilities has often been challenging. There were times when work demands left me with little energy or time to devote to my art.

Additionally, moving homes and not having a dedicated studio space has been particularly tough on my creative process. Each move disrupted my routine and sometimes made it hard to find inspiration. These challenges have taught me a lot about flexibility and finding creative ways to keep my art alive, no matter the circumstances.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My work primarily revolves around creating immersive and interactive art installations that blend traditional art forms with digital technology. I specialize in using a variety of mediums—from acrylic paints to digital animations—to craft experiences that invite viewers into expansive, imaginative narratives. My signature project, “Starlett,” exemplifies this approach, where each piece not only tells a part of an overarching cosmic story but also engages viewers in a deeply personal exploration of themes like self-discovery and personal growth.

Beyond the visual aspects, I incorporate elements like guided meditation, breathwork, and cosmic sound baths into my installations. These components are designed to deepen the viewer’s engagement, transforming the art experience into a holistic journey that nurtures both the mind and spirit. I’m particularly proud of how these interactive elements encourage people to connect with their inner child and explore the boundless possibilities of their imagination.

What sets my work apart is this unique blend of art and experiential therapy. I strive to create art that isn’t just to be viewed but experienced—where each visitor can come away with a sense of wonder, introspection, and emotional release. This focus on immersive experience and emotional connection is what distinguishes my work in the contemporary art scene, offering a sanctuary where art meets healing and personal transformation.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Throughout my artistic journey, I’ve been fortunate to have the support of many incredible individuals who have contributed significantly to my success. First and foremost, my close friends have been indispensable. They’ve not only supported my art but have also played crucial roles in the planning, setup, and operation of the immersive art show, “Starlett.” Their dedication and belief in my vision helped bring the project to life, ensuring its smooth execution and warm reception.

Additionally, A Deep Space, the venue that hosted the soft opening of “Starlett,” deserves special recognition. Their willingness to provide space and support for my show was instrumental in its success. The collaboration with A Deep Space allowed me to showcase my work in an environment that truly complemented the immersive nature of the installation.
