Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebel Robbie.
Hi Rebel , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
6th grade drums in my first band. High school drum line. 10th grade fronted (vocals & Guitar) skate punk band “Gridlock”.
Released cassette EP independently and gigged OC clubs “Goodies” etc.
1996 began accompanying various artists on percussion in Nyc. Played CBGBs gallery showcasing original music on vocal and guitar with Simeon Cain, drums (Rollins band, etc).
2006 returned to OC to support national & international acts such as :
Missing Persons, Wishbone Ash, Thompson Square, ABC, Mike Peters (the Alarm), Joe Wood (T.S.O.L.) and more!
Rebel Robbie is a moniker inspired by Bowies’ “rebel rebel” (whom he met in Nyc), Bob Marley’s “Rebel Music” and Billy Idols’ “Rebel Yell”.
You can find two singles available streaming under “Rebel Robbie” yet he has opted out of major streaming releases in firm opposition to the grossly exploitive nature of streaming platforms treatment of artists throughout the world.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I don’t believe there is a smooth road unless you never leave your bedroom.

Bookers, Cancellations, Musicians, Sound. Sleep..
