Today we’d like to introduce you to Richard Pavia.
Hi Richard, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I started doing the fair with a man that was like a father to me 25 years ago. Before he passed away, he gave me the fair to run. Just like him, I bring the fair to Escondido every year to boost businesses revenue, including hotels, stores, and more. I try to involve as many schools in the area as possible to because our goal at the fair is to educate through fun and entertainment.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
After 20 years of doing this, it has been the smoothest ride I have had, tripling in size each year.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I started out as a general contractor. I learned and grew with this trade also through the same man that started the fair. I worked with him on several jobs and eventually started helping him at the fair; I am most proud of myself for being a hard worker and never giving up on my goals.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
Luck is what you make it. If you work hard and be a good person, it will come back to you.
