Life & Work with Roamy of San Diego

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roamy

Hi Roamy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
About 15+ years ago I started a party crew with a group of high school friends which through parties every weekend. We we’re looking at our parties as more of a business and establishing ways to cut costs. At the time I was the only one with a laptop and offered myself to learn how to DJ. I started to DJ our house parties and from there grew a passion for music. For the next 5 years I would DJ all over Southern Cali. I then, put a pause on Djing and focused on my music production. I ended up seeking mentorship under Award Winning Mix Engineer, Patrick R. Heaney who has an amazing music studio in San Diego area called Phaser Control Recording Studio . I highly recommend it for any music producer looking to polish their craft. After building my catalogue I set out to find shows so I could play my music live! Unfortunately, the world had a different idea and closed down for the Covid Pandemic. The Pandemic forced me back into the studio for another 2 years to continue to build my music catalogue. Now if your wondering what type of music I produce? I enjoy really creating anything that has that house vibe to it! Whether its me creating a tropical house like my track “Run Into The Night” or my latest release “Dance All Night” which in my opinion has bass house and deep house elements to it. Basically if its under the house umbrella I will produce it! Im currently working with various artist/singer song writers as well as other producers on different projects that I am excited to share to the world. The goal for me has always been to create a memory with my music whether its on the dance floor while I’m DJing or in your head phones through my music production. This is my dream and I will not stop releasing new music for the world to listen. Hope you guys are ready!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Currently if you look at my socials. My Instagram as a matter a fact! You would say that I make it look easy? But, in reality its not! Don’t get me wrong I love what I do! I do push myself a lot of the time to some over the top limits like for instance. I have done 2 shows in 2 different cities with a 2hr gap in between. My advice to beginning Djs. There isn’t any blue print to this just try as many things as you can and see what best works for you. Even though it may seem I have it all figured out. I don’t, Im just not afraid to fail and continue failing until something works.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Im a music producer / mix engineer that is also a DJ. I am known for creating all types of house and house subgeners like the likes of bass house, tech house, tropical house etc etc. Now as far as my DJing goes. I am known to mixing high energy house music all throughout my set. So if your coming to see me live prepare to stay dancing the whole entire time. I am most proud of the fact that I am able to extend opportunities to Djs by being able to book them for various shows in Los Angeles and San Diego. What sets me apart from many not all. Would be I have that if I eat we eat mentality. Which I’m seeing less and less in the music industry.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I am very particular with the people I collaborated with. I like to make sure that I see that same passion within the person I’m collaborating with as I see in myself. Don’t want to make a “Banger” and the producer stops producing next month type ordeal. The best way to get my attention though is to come to a show and put a name to the face thats the best way honestly.
