Life & Work with Samuel “Bookie” Reyes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samuel “Bookie” Reyes.

Hi Samuel “Bookie”, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I turned to music growing up to block out everything that was going on in my life. To this day, I still do the exact same thing just on a professional and business level. I would freestyle and write to instrumentals I’d find on YouTube growing up and just had fun with it. Did it with my little brother for a while and once I was old enough and realized what I wanted to do, I went all-in on this music career. From recording long hours at Inovashun studios with my engineer David and manager (BrandonArchives) to being in the same rooms with some of the biggest artists in the industry now with and getting credited on now 2 #1 albums in the world both under young thug/Gunna. I wouldn’t be where I am without the mindset I have and especially my mom and manager. They both have been major impacts in my life and without them, I know for a fact I wouldn’t be where I am or be the person I am.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been smooth but that’s what builds character and knowing where I’ve been in my life and being at the absolute lowest of lows makes me even more proud of who and where I am. Sleeping in a car in front of a church with my mom and two siblings to living in a hotel for period of time to getting kicked out by family. But thru all those hard times none of them have made a bigger impact then the loss of my daughter Camila Tamariz-Reyes. I can go on and on but all those unfortunate events that have gone on have built me to the man I am today.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am known for being an independent artist and being involved with YSL as an assistant engineer. I am most proud of my newest track hold on that is now on all platforms and the two numbers one album I have been a part of and those were young thugs “slime language 2” and gunnas “DS4”. What sets me apart is my patience with every and anything really. That goes for my own personal music, to the people I work within the industry and to the jobs I’ve worked previously.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
For every and anybody that has wanted/wants to work/collab with me can simply email me @ bookielvlv@gmail.com.

I appreciate any and all support from a stream of one of my own tracks on all platforms under the name “Bookie.” To just watching the process of me growing not only as an artist but as a person overall.
