Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaked Elia de Nuccio.
Hi Shaked, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I have a background in graphic design, marketing, photography, visual arts, and social media, along with a long history & passion for the beauty industry. Esthetic has always been something I have an eye for. I chose to dive into permanent makeup over 5 years ago because it was an industry on the rise and fit perfectly with my skill sets and style, and I have never looked back on that decision. I have grown over the past few years to perfect my art through learning new techniques, have taught dozens of students looking to start their career as a permanent makeup artist, as well as consulted existing artists on technique and managing their social media presence.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth, not so much. Building a business takes a certain drive and dedication. There are unavoidable challenges that must be faced, but those are all part of the process in becoming a champion in your industry. The healing process particularly is something you need to be careful of and gain a deep understanding of. In the beginning, several of my clients came back with no ink retention, and I would have to re-do everything. It takes time to perfect the technique, understand color theory and know different skin types. In addition to those early struggles leading to perfecting my art, I’m also able to use that experience to teach students how to at least avoid as many bumps in the road as possible.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in natural brow tattoos. Microblading & nano brows. And also offer lip blush tattooing. I love the fact that I can be creative. I am a pro at recreating eyebrows to fit each client, and I’m pretty known for my conservative style & natural looking brow results.
I always remind my clients it’s better to avoid following trends and do whatever works for their face, bone structure & existing eyebrows. You won’t always get that level of honesty from an artist. You can do a quick google search to come across a whole world of botched brows out there. I pride myself on perfection and long lasting results.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the COVID-19 crisis?
I did! I learned that some things in life are not in my control (my business was shut down for a year). And once I understood that, I decided to invest my time into practicing my art, working hard at building my social media, and upgrade my studio equipment, investing in building the business in ways I could until the shutdown would end. I learned how to adapt on an extreme new level, and today I feel proud of the way I decided to overcome the challenges that crisis presented.
