Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Dunn.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started Crown City Comedy on Coronado last October and a year later it’s given me the opportunity to move away from California to a place I can actually afford and do what I love on a much larger scale. In a few months, I will have dates posted to produce comedy nationwide, even several dates in San Diego.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being in the military made me stay in California by obligation, but when I was given the opportunity to leave…I took it. Don’t get me wrong, California is beautiful but I didn’t see a future where my family and I can grow there. A lot of the entertainment industry has moved away from major hubs like LA and turned places like Austin, Texas into a red-carpet event for comedians.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I produce and host live stand-up comedy shows anywhere that’s willing to let me put on a show with world-class comedians. I’d have to say that what I’m most proud of is the opportunity to produce a show in Wetumpka, AL my hometown this past summer that we sold out and we’re able to raise money for my high school.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Class Clown but always trying to fit in…wasn’t until I started being myself that I started making friends
