Life & Work with TIFFANY Prata of Bay Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to TIFFANY Prata.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always been obsessed with farm stands. To me, they’re like these small, trusting windows into someone’s heart. I’ve also loved the idea of little free libraries—but I wanted to take that concept one step further.

Baking is truly my love language. It’s how I connect, express care, and create joy for people.

I wanted to see what my passion for baking could do for my community. Moving from a smaller town, I noticed that people here were a bit more hesitant when it came to neighborly interactions—almost anxious to talk to one another. With so much intensity in the world, I felt like we were losing those simple, human moments. So I wanted to create something that brought things back in closer. Just a small gesture that could open people’s hearts again and remind them that community is still possible.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
So far, it’s actually been very well-received. It feels like the chemistry of the neighborhood has shifted a bit. We live near a school, and I’ve noticed the school community opening up in ways I didn’t expect. Some of the parents have even started meeting at the farmstand on Friday mornings—they’ll grab their coffee and a warm scone, and they end up talking about school issues, parenting challenges, or just checking in on each other.

It’s been really beautiful to watch how something so simple can bring people together and make them feel a little more connected

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At the farmstand, we offer all the lovely homemade staples—mini loaves, almond butter, granola—but I think what people are most excited about are the fresh, warm scones. They’ve sort of become our signature. I’m up at 5 a.m. baking so they’re ready just as the morning starts, and I think that sense of care and timing comes through in the experience.

What I’m most proud of is how something so simple has created a real sense of connection. Anyone can bake, but what sets this apart is the intention behind it. It’s not just about selling treats—it’s about offering a moment of comfort, generosity, and community. I think people can feel that when they stop by, and that’s what makes it special.

It’s also become a really special collaboration. My neighbors and parents from the school often bring their own contributions—fresh-baked bread, extra fruits and vegetables from their gardens, even homemade goodies. It’s turned into this shared effort where everyone feels like they have a place.

One of my favorite moments was when a group of 4th graders created their own children’s book, and we showcased it at the farmstand. We put it out for sale, and they were so proud to see their work in a real community space. It’s those little moments of ownership and joy that make the farmstand feel bigger than just baked goods. It’s like a small heartbeat for the neighborhood

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that sometimes the ideas that feel a little crazy, uncomfortable, or out of the ordinary end up leading to the most beautiful outcomes. Stepping outside the norm can feel vulnerable, but that’s often where the real magic happens. This whole experience has shown me that taking a small, brave leap can inspire connection in ways you never could have predicted.
