Today we’d like to introduce you to Vincent Taisague.
Hi Vincent, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Hafa Adai,
Here on the ParBar Show, we bring up Pacific Islander topics from the back burner to the front. Mixing up ideas to inform our communities about concerns, events, and everything in between. All with using the golden rule of remembering to not be disrespectful.
The ParBar Show originated in November of 2017 with the idea of creating an avenue for ourselves and others to express their thoughts and opinions from all over the world.
Although we reside in San Diego, we represent the Chamorro (Guamanian) culture and have experienced many cultures of the Pacific Islands.
After a couple of years of producing weekly podcasts, we were presented with the opportunity of teaming up with “Island City” a radio station powered by the “Dash” radio app owned by the world-famous DJ Skee. Since teaming up with Island City, we have grown tremendously in our work and experience allowing us to expand and enter the world of radio and broadcast. We are currently on Island City every Thursday at 7 pm PST.
As our audience continued to grow through 2018-2019, we ventured out and hosted our own “Island Style Friday” events at local breweries such as Pacific Islander Beer Company and AleSmith Brewing Company. Being able to see our island community come together at our events is truly one of our greatest accomplishments. We hope to continue this event this upcoming summer.
We appreciate all that has supported us and looking forward for all things to come.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Covid has been one of our main struggles over the past couple years. Without being able to physically be with our communities we were forced to find other outlets.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We are a podcast/radio show specializing in current events and topics involving our pacific islands. We are most proud of the avenue that we have created for our people to express their opinions and thoughts.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can follow us on all streaming platforms including Soundcloud, Apple Podcast, Amazon Music, Spotify, and Island City radio station powered by the Dash radio app. For any collaborations, you can simply DM us on Instagram @ParBarShow or Facebook @ParBarCast or email us @parbarcast@gmail.
