Meet Abdallah Seoud

Today we’d like to introduce you to Abdallah Seoud.

Abdallah, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m a Brazilian DJ who makes videos. I consider myself a storyteller. I found on music, photography and videography, the way to share my perspective of life with others. In my opinion, everything is connected. I started to be a DJ and create my songs very early when I was about 11yo and it became my full-time job when I was 17. Here in the US, I have performed in clubs like: Academy LA, Avalon Hollywood, Exchange LA and some other great ones. Sometimes for thousands of people. As a content creator, my focus is on sharing experiences and inspiration through videos and photos. My goal is to help experiences focused brands to reach their audience and tell meaningful stories.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I believe that working with art of any kind is never easy. It’s hard to get value from what we create until we reach higher levels of “status”. I’m guided by my passions, so I was never worried about the challenges. Of course, I had to adapt my path along the way and sometimes deal with projects I didn’t want to do or work with something else so I could do what I love with the necessary freedom to create and explore. I’ve been in the music industry for 12 years and making my own music since 2015. In the beginning I performed at private parties, rented sound systems, and lighting setups from one year old celebrations to weddings. Sometimes performing in 7-8 different parties from Friday to Sunday. However, electronic music was always my passion, and after 7 years I decided to play only House Music. Since them my life has changed completely and I started to study more Marketing, Graphic Design, Videography and Photography. I started to use everything I was learning towards my music career and then things got better. Until today sometimes is hard to get a gig or make a living only from music. So, videography/photography naturally became my work instead only a hobby. People started to ask me for quotes, my social media started to grow because of my videos as well, and now I proud for making videos for many companies around the world, while I’m making my music as well.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I love everything I do. I love to create and put my work out for people. Today I’m still making music: writing, recording, djing, and producing. On the other side, I’m making a lot of videos focused on life style and travel. I’m always very excited to share good experiences with an inspirational tone. I try to make every work unique and special for who is watching or listen to my music. I’ve never had a huge budget for my productions, so I try to make always the better of what I have to work with. As a DJ, I have such great feedback of my music and my performances. Every time I play at a big event, or go live, people say: “I usually don’t like electronic music, but I love your music” or “I love house music and your style is great”. For my videos/photos, people message me every day with compliments. Every comment, every message is priceless. These kinds of feedback either for my videos or my music is what motivate me to do more and do better.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
There is a quote that I read once and I never forgot. It says: “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity”. I strongly believe on that. I always try to be prepared to every opportunity that I may have. I love to learn new things and I study at least 1 hour/day every day. No matter what I’m doing, I’m always looking for new stuff, new music, new artists. I always have my camera with me. I think we must recognize our privileges, of course. But I think the hard work is the real “luck”.
