Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Starsiak.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my photography journey during the end of elementary school and the beginning of middle school, taking iPhone photos of whatever I found interesting. I soon purchased a Nikon D3200 kit, an entry-level body and basic lenses.
I was never one to go to the beach often with friends, but the sunsets that San Diego gave me had me hooked to go over and over again to capture. I was especially connected to Windansea Beach and Calumet Park, two beautiful landscapes in the heart of La Jolla.
I am fortunate enough to currently have a job as a mailman for a retirement home, which over the years have led to me being able to upgrade my gear to a professional level.
Today, I am currently booking engagement and weddings and doing my best to work towards being a wedding photographer, and also love traveling for awesome landscapes to capture. And apart from that, I will be going to attend SDSU in the fall for business administration to help run my business if I can pursue that, but primarily to get a good job and try wedding photography as a side gig until I can do it full time.
Has it been a smooth road?
Apart from accidentally tripping my tripod and camera into a small stream, it has been very enjoyable. And currently had to delay some engagement shoots due to the coronavirus.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
My business is primarily engagement and wedding photography. I love that this industry is not controlled by anything and can allow for any level of creativity.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I think San Diego is a great place for photographers. Although it is very saturated, there is a huge population to balance it.
