Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Meza.
Hi Alex, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
All my life I’ve had a dream of acting and performance. I’ve done theater and musical theater for years! Last year I decided to become a Life Coach, and while working on that, I realized that helping others reach their goals and chase their dreams, without having actually conquered mine, seemed contradicting. So, I took that leap of faith. I quit my job, packed my things, and moved across Texas to make my dream come true. I am currently working on becoming a TV and Film professional actor.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth is not a word I would use for it. It has been filled with obstacles. From moving cities, leaving friends and family behind, to finding an agency and training. Acting is not an easy career, but to be honest, I’ve never been so happy to work through obstacles as I am right now. You know what they say, when you love what you do, you don’t work a day of your life! The path is still long, ahead. Am I scared or worried? Absolutely Not! I am thrilled to face the challenge and conquer my dream.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an actor and model. I’ve done both things in Mexico City and Texas. Although my are has been theater and musical theater, I am currently transitioning to TV and Film (keep an eye out, great things are coming). And what sets me apart aside from my determination and positive outlook in life, is that I am very much like playdoe… I can become anything I want. I lead my life with kindness and patience and I believe as long as I continue to do so, the universe will provide.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Oh, the list is gigantic! I am so blessed to have amazing people in my life that believe in me and has been there to support and guide me. Of course, first and foremost, my parents Jorge and Zelideh, My nephew Daniel. My best friend Edgar Saldana (who is a pillar in this endeavor of mine. Thank you, Edgar, this would not be possible without your help!). To all the people back home(s) in Mexico City and Laredo, who lifted me and helped me believe in myself. My cousin Sary Meza who is a constant inspiration (I wanna be like you when I grow up 😉 )
Lastly, to the people in Houston who in a short time have entered my life and showed nothing but love and support from day one. I am very grateful.
