Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexa Cataline.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
So I grew up in Temecula, CA around all the beautiful wineries we have here! In high school, I took film production classes and really fell in love with editing movies. I graduated from college with a BA in liberal arts and went to graduate school to be a special education teacher and halfway through my master’s program my husband, and I learned we were pregnant with our first baby! We were so thrilled! When I found that I was pregnant, I started taking photos again like I used to, and I remembered how much I loved it!
After a few months of taking photos of my growing belly, I realized how much I loved it and decided to really invest the time into it! I saw online that Amy & Jordan’s course was on sale and I had heard so many wonderful things about them so I took their courses online and it changed my business! I am so grateful that two teachers who loved photography decided to pursue their true passions and help others follow in their footsteps.
Please tell us about your art.
I definitely love the light and airy style. I feel like its timeless, and you’ll never grow out of it!
What do you think is the biggest challenge facing artists today?
I think the biggest challenge artists face today is comparing themselves to other artists. I think a lot of us put the pressure on ourselves to be like other people when in reality we are all very different.
