Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyson Namvong.
Hi Alyson, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
When I was around seven years old, I remember coming home from school and went on YouTube to search for Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis because it was my favorite song at the moment haha. I came across a video that was a Leona Lewis inspired makeup look and immediately became obsessed with makeup after that! I literally would watch makeup videos everyday after school. High school came around and I thought why not go to beauty school after I graduated because I really didn’t see myself going to college at all! I graduated from Bellus Academy in 2018 and started working in the bridal industry later that year.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I think the biggest struggle I had was building my clientele when I first started and not working for a whole year during the pandemic. For months I thought that I had lost my “touch” and became very insecure with my work.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I would say my style is more natural to soft glam makeup. I mainly specialize in bridal and any special occasion makeup! My goal is to enhance my client’s natural beauty and not mask it!
