Hi Alyssa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Like so many, I started my Instagram account during the earlier days of the pandemic. I always loved to decorate and one day my husband convinced me to just start my own account. It was the best advice he’s ever given me! The friendships and collaborations through this account have been life-changing! The decor community has been so supportive and inspirational. Exchanging DIYs, recipes, and decor tips with others from around the world provides such a new prospective. My account is still considered small but the impact it’s had on my life is huge!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For the most part, it’s been smooth sailing. The biggest challenge has been accepting my own style. It’s easy to see other’s style and try to incorporate that into my decor only to realize it didn’t feel like me. Decorating has taught me a lot about myself.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
This account has become more than a place to post photos and reels. It has become a safe place not only for me but for others as well. It’s a place where others can share tips amongst each other and create their own friendships. I don’t consider myself “set apart from others”. I just have my own style and yet I can appreciate others’ style. I love to learn from others and share what I’ve learned.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Oh so many! I think one of my favorites was when I was 8 or 9 and the dance team, I was on got to perform at the Del Mar Fairgrounds! That was such an unforgettable day!
