Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana and Renee BCID Studio.
Hi Ana and Renee, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
BCID Studio was established in April 2017 as Border Creation Interior Design Studio. At the beginning of our journey, we began with small projects, and only until we obtained more experience in the design world, we were able to complete full remodels or new constructions. After beginning in our home dining table, we are proud to now have a presence and an office in both MX and USA to compensate for our binational client base.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been a smooth road, but the trip has not been bad at all! Going on your own means knowing more than what you were taught in school. The key is to keep a positive mindset while facing trial and error experiences, some succeeding and some not so much. Also, having a great support system and other experts to guide you along the way is crucial.

BCID Studio used to be known as Border Creations Interior Design Studio but as of 2022 the company rebranded and abbreviated their name to facilitate pronunciation.
BCID Studio strives to create beautiful and tailored interiors that complement and transform everyday living.
With a majority of Residential projects, BCID Studio values the importance of functional design while embracing unique personal aesthetics to create a pleasing cohesive space. The studio also caters to Commercial and Hospitality projects allowing a brand to portray their identity in a creative way.
BCID Studio or Border Creations Interior Design is a bi-national Full-Service Interior Design Studio servicing projects in both sides of the US/MX border. In an effort to promote “Hecho a Mano” artisan home goods their curated line is available through Linea Norte
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Ana Luisa Gaitan Co-Founder // Principal Interior Designer
Born in San Diego CA and raised in Tijuana MX has allowed Ana to explore and embrace a duality of cultures that currently marks her design aesthetic. Her love for all things beautiful creates a limitless pool of inspiration for projects and collaborations. She believes in the importance of attention to detail and honest relationships with clients, artisans, and builders in order to successfully translate design into tangible and cohesive spaces.
In 2013, Ana received a BFA in Interior Design from Design Institute of San Diego and immediately gained experience and knowledge while working for a recognized High-End Residential Interior Design Firm.
Renee Perez Scolari
Co-Founder // Creative Director & Purchasing Manager
Renee happens to be a San Diego CA native, raised in Tijuana MX. She is passionate about many things in life – most importantly family, friends, and food. Inspired by everyday life and by the people surrounding her, she contributes to projects by bringing comfort, simplicity, and seamless functionality – while her modern and holistic approach comes from studying abroad and her constant need to reinvent herself.
In 2013 Renee earned a BA in Architecture from ITESM- Institute Tecnológico de Monterrey and since then, Renee has worked in various renowned Architecture firms in both Mexico and the United States allowing her to gain knowledge in both architectural and interior design.
