Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Felice.
Angela, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am inspired every day by the spirit of my mother and grandmother, who are from Italy, near a small town in Rome. My grandmother, who I’m named after, came to me in a dream and told me to be happy, to follow my passion, and create meals with love.
Cooking from the heart runs deep in my family where food is homemade, fresh, and made with plenty of love. I bring this philosophy to everything I make and was moved to name my business Amore Kitchen!
At Amore Kitchen, I offer everything from personalized meals, to classes, to boutique catered events. With my background as a school teacher for many years, I find teaching kids and adults to cook very gratifying! Menus and classes can range from authentic dishes that have been in my family for decades to teaching kids simple, fun recipes. All fresh, all made with amore!
In my experience, spending quality time in the kitchen and bringing families together strengthens parent-child relationships. It is my passion and purpose to educate my clients on how to plan and prepare delicious food.
I offer unique culinary experiences that specialize in teaching and entertaining through food to all ages. My goal is to create a learning environment that is fun-filled, friendly and inviting. I believe that cooking as a family is fundamental, and I teach basic cooking skills and habits for children and parents to use in today’s hectic society. I believe in bringing families back to the dinner table.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I had a hard time believing in myself. I owned a franchise for a couple of years, which didn’t work out for me. I told myself lies about why it didn’t work out and actually agreed that I would never own a business again. I had to work on my mindset in order to build and grow my business successfully. I took a mindset reset class that was very helpful in allowing me to focus on what I can achieve and how to get there.
I also had a hard time with pricing, so I reached out for help.
The third challenge I had was figuring out how to manage finances. I did not know how to track everything and how to set it all up.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Amore Kitchen – what should we know?
I provide cooking classes for kids and adults, and also offer boutique catering. My specialty is Italian food. My parents were both born and raised in Italy, so I have been learning to make authentic Italian food since I was a little girl. I am known for my Italian food, and also desserts. I am very proud that I was on Fox 5 News within my first year being in business. I was able to do a short cooking segment with kids on live tv. I am set apart from others because I am 100% authentically Italian. I speak the language and cook real recipes without shortcuts.
