Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Mee Ra.
From an early age, Mee Ra Rituals’ founder Anna was drawn to both Eastern and Western disciplines in health care, skincare, and comprehensive medicine. Originally born in Jeonju, Korea, she was adopted into a loving family in Minnesota when she was 6 months old.
In 2015, she reunited with her birth family, when she learned that she came from a long line of health care practitioners and beauty professionals. Her practice and the Mee Ra Rituals product line reflect this heritage. They bring together centuries-old knowledge of herbal medicine, the evidence-based rigor of Western science, and a commitment to holistic health management using pure, non-toxic ingredients.
Ever curious about the world, she has lived and worked globally: from extensive travels in India and Korea, to practicing in elite health and beauty institutions in Minneapolis, New York City, and San Diego. She holds a Master’s of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine, with a focus in acupuncture and herbal medicine. She also received applied science degrees in both Medical Aesthetics and Clinical Massage.
Originally developed in limited batches for close friends and patients, Anna’s product line is now available exclusively online.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My biggest lesson has been that everything takes waaay longer than expected- that many things are simply out of my control when it comes to timing.
This is a constant struggle for me because I’m a total ‘cross-things-off-a-list’ girl.

It is my life’s mission to empower others with east Asian medicine and modern science in a 3-minute skincare ritual!
I have been known for obsessing over non-toxic skincare products (and creating them) since 2004 when I became an aesthetician. I received my Master’s in Oriental Medicine in 2014- and since then have been known for providing Cosmetic Acupuncture Facials.
My all-time favorite part of giving facials has always been at the very end when I hand a woman a mirror. When I get to see her eyes sparkle. Her smile. When I get to feel her sense of EMPOWERMENT.
As a skincare company, I am most proud of the 13 years that it’s taken me (and a chemist) to re-formulate, and bring the best products with the best ingredients out into the world.
Mee Ra Rituals skincare products are for the minimalist with high standards. It only takes 3 minutes. We use organic ingredients- but our products do more than just hydrate the skin and smell good. We’ve condensed the laborious Korean Skincare Routine. We are here to educate and empower others with east Asian medicine and modern science- all within 3 minutes!
