Today we’d like to introduce you to Anne & Kayla Valenzuela.
Hi Anne & Kayla, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
We are a duo family business. We both started our event planning journey years ago planning events for fundraisers, shows/competitions, and for family and friends. However, what really sparked our interest to open our own business was when Anne got married 11 years ago. As cliché as it sounds, we fell in love with love. Weddings bring so much nostalgia and that sense of awe – we were hooked. We started planning weddings here and there to get our feet wet. Then it progressed into themed events (ie. retirement parties, birthdays, showers, etc.). So, here we are today. Since the pandemic hit, we’ve slowed our business to keep everyone safe. However, now we can check off drive-by parties! And we’re loving it!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We wouldn’t say smooth, but also not quite bumpy either. Coming into the industry, we already knew there would be challenges. So having that mindset kept us grounded and ready to take on any challenges we faced. The pandemic was definitely a huge challenge as people were postponing their weddings and cancelling events all together. However, since the country has opened up a bit, we’re coming in little by little, doing smaller gatherings.
We’ve been impressed with Nostalgic Events & Weddings, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a family owned event planning business specializing in weddings and special events. We believe there are unforgettable moments that deserve to be filled with the greatest emotion and a lingering sense of awe. Every event is inspired and a reflection of our client’s unique personality. We strive to make any special event memorable and stress-free as possible.

Making the client happy and stress free. We value every moment in the planning process as well as our clients wishes. We love building relationships with them that eventually turn into friendships. Their trust in us keeps us going. So if they’re happy, we’re happy.
