Meet Anyssa Matthews of San Diego

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anyssa Matthews.

Hi Anyssa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Anyssa, and I’m the owner of Daviana Divine Photos here in San Diego. I started photography with the intention of empowering people and helping them see the light within themselves. What began as a passion turned into a purpose-driven business centered around confidence, connection, and community. I’m especially passionate about uplifting other small business owners in San Diego because I truly believe we grow stronger together.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been entirely smooth. The creative industry is ever-evolving, and navigating growth while maintaining your identity can be challenging. There have been moments that required resilience and adaptability, but each experience strengthened both my vision and my business. I’ve learned that staying true to your craft and leading with intention creates long-term success.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in creating clean, editorial-style portraits that feel both timeless and empowering. My focus is on capturing individuals in a way that highlights their confidence, beauty, and authenticity. I’m known for my attention to detail and for creating an experience where clients feel comfortable, seen, and elevated.

What I’m most proud of is the impact my work has — when someone leaves a session feeling more confident than when they arrived, that means everything to me. What sets me apart is that I don’t just take photos; I create intentional experiences designed to bring out the light within each person while maintaining a polished, refined aesthetic.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is authentic connection and standing with purpose. The world can feel tense and divided, and in times like this, I believe it’s even more important to create spaces rooted in love, confidence, and empowerment. I intentionally surround myself with people who value genuine connection and community.

I believe we all deserve to be seen, to show our true colors, and to live authentically. When we choose to stand for something meaningful — whether that’s creativity, empowerment, or unity — we step out of the shadows and give others permission to do the same.
