Today we’d like to introduce you to Arianna Linn.
Arianna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m a fourth-generation San Diegan, and my roots here run really deep. I’m named after my great-grandmother Anna, who helped Italian immigrants gain citizenship—so helping others and building community has always been part of who I am.
I actually started out in the corporate world in 2018. My coworkers would always comment on my makeup, and one day I thought, I’m not special, why not show people how to do this too? I hosted my first class and instantly fell in love with teaching—it was so much fun that I eventually left my job to pursue it full-time. Then, of course, COVID happened, right as I was getting my event-based business going. We pivoted to online classes and cosmetics, and slowly but surely, students and referrals started booking me for makeup appointments.
Now, years later, I’ve found a way to combine everything I love—teaching, doing makeup, hosting events, and building this amazing beauty community. Every day I get to help people feel confident, creative, and beautiful—and honestly, little me would have never imagined a life this full and fun.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Has it been smooth? Honestly, no—not at all. Entrepreneurship is one of the most vulnerable things you can do. It forces you to look inward constantly, to confront your fears, and to figure out what you really want. When I first left my corporate job to pursue teaching and events full-time, I felt exhilarated but completely exposed. I had to trust myself, my instincts, and my work in a way I never had before.
Then COVID hit, right as my event-based business was starting to take off. Everything I had planned felt like it could vanish overnight. I had to pivot—moving to online classes and building out a cosmetics line—to stay afloat. It was scary, humbling, and exhausting, but it taught me resilience and the importance of creativity under pressure.
Those struggles shaped me. New ones will continue to do so. They reminded me that entrepreneurship isn’t about a straight path—it’s about perseverance, reflection, and staying true to your vision, even when the road is anything but smooth.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in bridal, corporate, and special event makeup, with a focus on enhancing each person’s natural beauty rather than changing it. What I’m most proud of is my attention to detail—I listen closely to my clients to coax out their vision, ensuring they feel confident and beautiful every step of the way.
Sanitation and safety are non-negotiable in my work, and I take pride in creating a flawless base—foundation and overall makeup that looks and feels like skin, not heavy or mask-like. I think what sets me apart is this combination of technical skill, careful listening, and a commitment to an experience that makes each client feel cared for, seen, and radiant.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite—and probably most formative—childhood memories are the days my mom would do my hair and makeup. My great-grandmother, who has since passed, was being honored for helping Italian immigrants gain citizenship, and my mom, Rosanna, a talented cosmetologist, would do all the glam for those Italian festas and galas. While most kids were asking their moms for makeup, mine was my entire glam team. At the time, I didn’t fully realize her talent, but looking back, I now see exactly where I inherited my skills and passion. Those moments weren’t just fun—they planted the seeds for my love of beauty and creativity and shaped the way I connect with clients today.
