Hi Ariel, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I founded ASR Design Studio after spending years immersed in the world of design and construction across both residential and commercial projects. What began as a personal passion for creating beautiful, functional spaces naturally evolved into a full-service design studio built on intention, clarity, and an elevated, supportive client experience.
Early in my career, I realized just how overwhelming the design and remodeling process can feel for homeowners. There are so many moving parts—contractors, products, timelines, budgets—and the journey can be mentally and emotionally demanding. Watching your home be stripped down and rebuilt is incredibly transformative, but once demo begins, it’s often the most challenging phase for many people.
ASR Design Studio was born from a desire to guide clients through that transformation with confidence, care, and a sense of ease. My goal has always been to help people fall in love with where their lives unfold. Over the years, I’ve refined a system that blends creativity with organization, transparency, and thoughtful communication.
Today, we support clients throughout Southern California in designing homes that feel elevated, personal, and truly livable. It has been an incredible journey, and I’m grateful every day to do work that enhances the way people experience and enjoy their homes.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has definitely not always been smooth, but every challenge has shaped the way ASR Design Studio operates today. Like many small business owners, I built this studio from the ground up, often wearing every hat—designer, project manager, administrator, and problem-solver. Balancing creativity with the realities of construction, timelines, and client expectations was a learning curve in the beginning.
One of the biggest challenges has been navigating the unpredictable nature of construction. Delays, supply chain issues, different city requirements, and unexpected site conditions are all part of the process, and early on, I had to learn how to stay grounded and adapt quickly. These experiences pushed me to develop the organized systems, clear communication practices, and structured processes we use now.
Another struggle was finding the right balance between serving clients deeply and maintaining healthy boundaries as the business grew. I care so much about my clients and their homes, and learning how to support them while building a sustainable studio took time and intention.
With every hurdle—large or small—I’ve gained clarity, resilience, and a stronger foundation for the business. Those challenges are ultimately what allowed ASR Design Studio to become what it is today: a thoughtful, streamlined, elevated design experience grounded in care and expertise.

We’re also excited to take on more diverse projects that challenge us creatively—whether it’s boutique commercial spaces, innovative residential remodels, or new builds that push the boundaries of functional, livable design.
