Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Harris.
Ashley, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I feel very fortunate because I figured out what I wanted to do with my career at a very young age. I always had a passion for skincare and beauty and definitely knew I wanted to work with people in some way. I lived in Scottsdale at the time and luckily one of the top medical aesthetics schools was only a five-minute drive from where I lived. I put myself through school, and I am very proud to say I was the only student in my class that didn’t miss a single day and aced every test I took. This was a sure sign that I was doing something I was truly passionate about and eager to be the best I could be!
I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside some of the top plastic surgeons in the nation early in my career, and I’m so grateful for their guidance and mentorship. I wouldn’t be where I am today without that experience. And although I loved working for the doctors, I always knew I wanted to have my own business and be my own boss. I build up the courage to finally go out on my own, and today, I have a business, a team, and a clientele that is better than I ever dreamed of!!
There have been weeks and even years that I’ve had to work 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, which is definitely challenging…. but at the end of the day it was so worth it!!! I LOVE my life and I LOVE my job. I’m so grateful every day for Love To Live and the incredible team that we’ve built!
Has it been a smooth road?
If I told you that running in building your own business was easy, I would definitely be lying to you but if it was that easy everyone would do it! I would say the biggest obstacles/challenge I’ve run into so far is TIME. I see clients 5 to 6 days a week and typically 10 to 12 hours a day. This doesn’t leave very much extra time to do all the other things that the business requires.
Decorating, product displaying, Social Media, staff training, continuing education, and the list goes on… I would never trade it for the world and definitely couldn’t imagine working for anyone other than myself now. But finding the proper balance to give every area of the business the time it takes and deserves, is an area of constant and never-ending improvement.

At love to live we specialize in saving our clients time, which is something you could never get more of! A great piece of feedback we here all the time for my clients is how much time we have saved them with their beauty routine.
There are countless products and treatments on the market, each one claiming to be better than the next and the magic bullet. Weeding through this is daunting and it becomes very overwhelming for people to figure out what is best for them. We have done all the research and only carry and recommend products and treatments which we know really work so Our clients don’t have to think about a thing. I’m so proud that we’ve earned their trust I love hearing about how simple people think their new regimen is once they start working with me while seeing results like they’ve never thought possible.
I’m so excited when a client comes in and tells me how numerous people have complimented them on their skin since working with me! I have had several clients who never could’ve imagined leaving the house without makeup, and now they love the way their skin looks and feel that the last thing they want to do is cover it up with makeup!;)
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
San Diego is definitely a great city to have a beauty business! Health and wellness is an integral part of many people’s lives here in Southern California which means there are a lot of people who get spa services. Also, San Diego is definitely on the cutting edge when it comes to products, treatments and providers!
