Hi AZURE, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey into sexual wellness began unexpectedly in 2002 with what was supposed to be nothing more than a fun girls’ night in.
A friend hosted an adult intimacy party where women gathered to laugh, learn, and shop privately for products that could enhance their relationships. As I watched the presenter, one thing stood out to me: she seemed uncomfortable talking about the very topics she was there to teach. Yet despite that, she sold a tremendous amount of products in a single evening.
I remember thinking, “People deserve someone who can talk about intimacy with confidence, compassion, and without embarrassment.”
That one evening changed the direction of my life.
I began hosting educational intimacy workshops and parties of my own, creating a space where people could ask the questions they were often too embarrassed to ask anywhere else. What started as product education quickly became something much deeper. I realized people weren’t just looking for bedroom products—they were looking for connection, confidence, healthier relationships, and permission to talk openly about sex without shame.
Over the next 25 years, I built a successful business educating thousands of individuals and couples, trained and mentored others in the industry, built a multi-million-dollar sales organization, and became a sought-after educator and speaker. As my career evolved, I realized I wanted to help people beyond products and education alone. I wanted to help them create lasting transformation, so I went back to school and earned my credentials as a Board-Certified Clinical Sexologist and Certified Sex Coach—allowing me to combine decades of real-world experience with evidence-based education.
Today, I help individuals and couples build stronger, healthier relationships by combining evidence-based sexology with practical coaching on communication, intimacy, confidence, and connection. In addition to my educational workshops and private coaching practice through The Luv Diva, I’m also the co-founder of It’s The Man School, a comprehensive dating and relationship program that teaches men the skills women consistently say they’re looking for—emotional intelligence, communication, confidence, respect, and genuine connection. I believe that healthy relationships don’t happen by chance—they’re built through communication, emotional safety, mutual respect, and the willingness to keep learning.
Looking back, it’s amazing that one girls’ night over two decades ago became the catalyst for a career dedicated to helping people build healthier relationships, deeper intimacy, and more meaningful connections.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Owning a business is rarely a smooth road, but building one in the field of sexual wellness comes with a unique set of challenges.
From the very beginning, I encountered obstacles that most entrepreneurs never have to think about. Because my business was considered “high risk,” something as simple as obtaining credit card processing became a major hurdle. There were also times when customers filed chargebacks after a disapproving partner discovered their purchase—even though they had received exactly what they ordered.
Marketing has been one of the biggest ongoing challenges. Many advertising platforms restrict or prohibit content related to sexual wellness, even when it’s purely educational. Social media presents its own frustrations, where using accurate anatomical or sexual health terminology can result in content being censored, hidden, or shown to fewer people. As someone whose mission is to educate and remove shame around these topics, those limitations can make it difficult to reach the people who need the information most.
Beyond the unique challenges of my industry, I’ve faced the same realities every entrepreneur experiences—finding clients, managing finances, balancing countless responsibilities, adapting to constant changes in technology and marketing, and learning how to build a sustainable business.
While those challenges haven’t always been easy, they’ve taught me resilience, creativity, and the importance of staying focused on my mission. Every obstacle has reinforced why this work matters. If I can help even one person feel more confident in their body, communicate more openly with their partner, or build a healthier, more fulfilling relationship, then every challenge along the way has been worth it.
