Thanks for sharing your story with us Barbie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started working for ITAN 12 years ago at the age of 21 when life was so simple, easy and with endless opportunities. As a newly 21-year-old young lady who was already a customer to ITAN, I thought I would apply to make extra money during the nights and weekends when I wasn’t at my full-time job. I mean I was already an avid customer so why not make some money doing what I loved. I quickly grew within the company within my first five years, I mastered every position of course failing and growing along the process. Fast Forward 9 years to 2016 when I purchased my own store in Ramona California.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Being a part of an already established Franchise is definitely easier than starting from scratch. I already knew what I needed to do to be successful in the business that part was smooth. However, owing a Brick N Mortar in beautiful California is not easy but it is definitely worth it. There are so many leaglities that you do not realize until you’re in the process it’s not an easy smooth process to get started. But just as they say nothing worth having comes easy and being an entrepreneur you are learning, growing and adapting on a regular basis that’s where the success comes when you make it to the other side.
ITAN SunSpraySpa – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a full-service Salon offering UV Tanning, Spray, and Spa Services. We have everything from bed tanning, to a mystic or versa spray booths, airbrush, photo facials, body wraps, teeth whitening, etc my favorite is our
Beauty Angel. I would say we specialize in providing clients with optimal results in whatever service they come in for. Our staff is fully trained and educated to help each of our customers with their individual needs. This business is not a one fits all we truly take pride in the process of helping every single customer. I am beyond proud of the overall growth we have experienced as a whole franchise having 34 locations and a very strong presence in our communities. What sets us apart is our commitment to making ITAN SunSpraySpa accessible for everyone we are constantly evaluating the business to ensure that we are showing up for our clients in a way that aligns with our brand core values.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I believe that personal and professional success coincides and it is very hard to have 1 without the other especially as an entrepreneur. Ultimately I know I am experiencing success when I am showing up every day playing full out to the best of my ability in every role I hold. At the end of the day when I reflect upon everything that happened earlier, I find these moments my opportunity to get clear on what I would or wouldn’t have done differently and what I’ll be committed to the following day. As a business owner of course success is also defined in our numbers on some level.
