Today we’d like to introduce you to Basil Vargas.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My love for photography unraveled at the age of fifteen where I brought my first camera with me to the Philippines. Overwhelmed with unfamiliar sights in new territory, I photographed everything that sparked my interest. A month later I came back to my hometown of Oceanside with the same mentality of photographing anything I saw interesting.
Fast forward 9 years later and I’m still photographing anything that sparks my interest whether it’s an interesting story or person.
Has it been a smooth road?
Ha, definitely not smooth but I wouldn’t have it any other way! Hard work pays off in the end, and you don’t do any real hard work until you start struggling. It’s normal. Honestly, growing up was the hardest part of my career. Photography felt like a game until adulthood hit. Luckily I have the most supportive family & friends who’ve helped me overcome anything that came in my way.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Basil Vargas – Photographer – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I’m a lifestyle and editorial photographer. I’m known for my horrific dance moves and photographing moments that usually go unnoticed. I’m most proud of the friendships I’ve made throughout this career and excited for the many more I will make!
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love San Diego for its Mexican food and perfect weather. It’s no contest. More specifically, I love my hometown of Oceanside. It’s rich in diversity and a breeding grounds for talented and badass people. What I dislike about San Diego is that there’s only 1 main airport. We should change that. 🙂
