Today we’d like to introduce you to Ben Russell.
Hi Ben, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I began my hairdressing career at 16 completed my apprenticeship and at 18 in Somerset. I moved to London to pursue a dream to become the best hairdresser I could be. With just a suitcase of my belongings, I set of to the bright lights of London. I was lucky to land job for a big company which led me to many opportunities such as winning the L’Oreal colour trophy for London becoming a finalist in the British hairdressing awards and also allowed me to teach hairdressing and do hair shows. After five amazing years in London, I then moved to Australia and managed a salon in Melbourne also becoming successful in hair competitions there where I became a finalist in the Australian hair awards and also part of the Australian fame team.
This allows me to travel to Italy France Greece and England for hairdressing. After all the excitement in the travelling around I’ve now open my own salon back in Somerset near my friends and family.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I would say It’s been a very enjoyable career you learn a lot from your mistakes but I would like to call them lessons rather than mistakes. So far nothing’s gone wrong.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a hairdresser. Hairdressing for me is the best job in the world it’s allowed me to turn my dreams into reality. At my salon, we really take our time to listen to our clients and help them achieve what they want. we have a great relationship with Our clients and everyone in the town. it’s really all about enhancing that person making them better than when they came in our door. We are known for our precise work and beautiful hair colours.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
On this journey, there’s been many many people who I owe a lot to from the person you gave me my first job to the staff I currently employ everyone has been equally as important and it’s been most enjoyable getting to know so many different people. A particular remember my first boss got me into positive thinking in the law of attraction and just believing every thing that you want is achievable but you have to really see it in your mind to make it come to life for me the law of attraction is so important for my day-to-day life.
