Today we’d like to introduce you to Benjamin Timm.
Benjamin, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I came to California as a Young Marine in 2006. The moment I got out of my jeep on a mild February afternoon, I knew my life would keep me here in Southern California. In the last few years of my 10 year Marine Corps Career, I reconnected with my love of Fitness and helping people.
I started working out at a few CrossFit Gyms in 2012 and even meet my wife Jamie in 2014. I started coaching Group Classes in 2013 and really wanted to do more. I loved the gym I started it but really wanted to have something of my own.
I started Double Barrel Fitness in 2015 With just a few good ideas and some equipment. Our Goal was to provide the best Fitness Facility possible. To strive to get better every day. We believe that anyone can lead a healthier and happier life through fitness. That our amazing coaching staff can help the young and old with whatever goals they have.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We have struggled with many things in our last 3 years. From Permitting issues, noise complaints, angry neighbors, failing partnerships, and more.
No matter what was thrown at us, We kept our heads up and just kept helping those around us.
Double Barrel Fitness – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are the Largest Functional Fitness Facility in North County and one of the biggest in all of socal. We provied Group Classes like FitCamp, CrossFit, Olympic Weightlifting, Kids and teen classes and individual personal training, and nutrition help.
Our Mission of be better reminds up to make to day better then yesterday. Be a better coach, Have better amenities, Provide a better service.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I personally believe that as long as I have helped at least 1 other person with one thing during the day, then it has been a successful day.
