Meet Bianca A. Thomason

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bianca A. Thomason.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I started my career in the artistic field of Photography at 23 years old. What began as taking photos of my baby boy who I gave birth to shortly before, bloomed into this passionate, always growing, always creating, still photos of life and its’ cherished memories. I have dipped my foot in several forms of art (something I believe God gifted me with) and aside from music, there is nothing that brings me more fulfillment than this. There is never a moment that I don’t cherish that I get to do this for a living. The blessing and inspiration comes from this rich history and unique thing called life. There is so much beauty in all of it, and I don’t take that granite for a second.

Please tell us about your art.
I create the art of photography for a living. I have the privilege of telling a story of two unique individual people and their love story. I wanted to convey a message for people to take away from my work and that I am deeply involved with human connection, and I believe it is a gift. I want them to feel how passionate I am about telling their story.

Choosing a creative or artistic path comes with many financial challenges. Any advice for those struggling to focus on their artwork due to financial concerns?
Being creative and/or artistic comes with passion. With passion comes determination. You can’t let finances stop you from pursuing that. You do what it takes to better your artistry. Start off in a basement, in a small compacted garage, borrow equipment, or ask for help when it’s necessary. You can’t expect a handout because I have learned in this field of art that there is beauty in the community, but there is also competition. That doesn’t mean that everyone is going to support you but be thankful for the people who do and just trust the process. Accept help when it’s offered and always be willing and open to learning. As artists, there is always growth.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
I am all about social media these days and believe it is such a unique platform to take advantage of with this field of work. You can find my work on Instagram @biancathomasonphoto, on facebook @biancathomasonphotographer, and on my website at www.biancathomason.com.
