Today we’d like to introduce you to Blanca Chivichon.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Growing up, I’ve always had a passion for photography. When I got my first camera, I took it everywhere I went and loved capturing the special moments in a way that would be remembered forever. I studied photography in college and began connecting with local artists and friends to do creative photoshoots under my artistic direction. I enjoy supporting small local businesses and artists by providing a service that helps them reach their goals and put a vision to their brand.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When I started my photography business, I relied on public transportation to get around to my photoshoot locations. I didn’t let that hold me back from completing my projects, and that inspired me to enhance my hustle. I now enjoy traveling to new cities across the state to document special events and moments for my clients. I recently traveled from Los Angeles to Downtown San Diego for a live event photoshoot. I plan to travel to different states and countries to provide my services internationally and upon call.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As an artist of many talents, I have a creative vision that inspires me to capture new perspectives. I currently specialize in live event photography, following bands in the metal scene across California cities to document their shows. I also have experience working with models, actors, and performers to take photos that will enhance their portfolios and increase exposure. One of the most memorable moments was being booked to photograph in Hollywood for the Netflix red carpet premiere of the documentary “Romeo Is Bleeding.” I value working with many different clients and enjoy being flexible with the types of photography services I offer. From live event photoshoots, headshots, cuisine, product, pet, and fashion photography services, I have a wide range of experience and passion for many subjects.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
I enjoy reading magazines such as Vogue, Interview, Rolling Stone, Creem, Paper Magazine, and many others. These magazines inspire me with their stories and photographs to tell the stories of the people in my community.
