Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandi Castle.
Brandi, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started out doing my own makeup in 2012. As time went on, I got better and better, and people would always ask me to do their makeup, but I was scared. Eventually, I thought ‘Just do it, Brandi. Either you try, and you’re great at it, or you’re not so great, but you’ll never know if you don’t try.” Turns out I’m really good at what I do. I took my first client in 2016, and I’ve been soaring ever since.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been easy. Being a freelancer means you only work when there’s work available. Trying to get your name out there can be tough, and networking can be a struggle when you’re a natural introvert, but I’m working on that!
What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
My business specializes in everyday wearable makeup. I’m most proud of how far I’ve come in my skill set, and me just being me is what sets me apart. I try to make sure every person who sits in my chair feels absolutely stunning when they leave.m, and sometimes it becomes a therapy session. We all need someone to talk to and I don’t mind being that person.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I feel that my infectious personality is most important to my success. I’m very approachable and willing to answer any and all questions. People are drawn to nice people. You catch more bees with honey!
