Meet Brandon Nash of 24 Frames

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Nash.

Brandon, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As a kid, I always paid attention to music videos and would always go to MTV in the mornings before school just to watch them, but I never really thought anything of it. Going into college, I didn’t really know what I wanted to do, I just went because my parents wanted me to. After some thinking and changing my major to film in my second semester, I kind of had a general idea as to what I wanted to do in the future. I started shooting and directing some short films in my first couple of years at SDSU and it was super fun, but it wasn’t as fulfilling as I wanted it to be.

My 3rd year, one of my closest friends asked me to make a music video for one of his songs and it was a wrap from there. I had finally found my real passion. Along with that, I joined this like supergroup at SDSU by the name of “Creative State”. It was a student-run group filled with just creative and like-minded people. Here I was doing music videos, promotional and recap videos for events, and even filming fashion shows.

During the last two years at SDSU, I really found myself and found something that I enjoyed and am now working on turning into a career. Now I’m at a point where I’m trying to create a platform for the artist through my videos in San Diego especially. The game is changing; visuals are everything for a musical artist and the biggest push at the moment. I want to be that for the city.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Hasn’t been smooth at all. My first couple of years in college, I was lowkey depressed. Questioning my future and everything about myself. There was a lot of doubt in my mind at times and I would always lose focus. Even to this day, there are still times where I feel like that every now and then, but with a clear vision and goal in mind now, I just find myself feeling happier these days.

24 Frames – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
24 Frames is a media and production company specializing in music videos and concert recaps (for now). My team and I have a vision for what we will turn this into. For now, we look to just provide for the artist. We strive to be the bridge to an artist’s visibility. Right now, we do that through music videos. But in the future, the very near future, we look to turn our channel into a media hub for San Diego. And what sets us apart from other videographers and production companies is our passion. We truly believe in the future of not only this but the future of San Diego. All the hidden talent in this city will be seen very soon, and we want to be the helping hands in shedding that light.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Having an open mind. When it comes to life, you never know where things are going to take you or what’s going to happen. Being optimistic and willing to try new things will take you very far in life.
