Thanks for sharing your story with us Brian. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I grew up in a small desert town an hour and a half east of San Diego called El Centro California. I had in many ways an iconic childhood, I went to a country school, played sports, was successful with academics, and came from a very successful and supportive family. With that said, underneath the surface, I had my own challenges brewing. As I grew up and especially as I went to high school, like many I succumbed to the party hard fast food processed food mainstream culture which was and still is the world we live in. When I was 16 I was diagnosed with a rare health condition. While it was not life threatening, it was the first time I became aware of my health and wellness. It was also my first encounter with the healthcare system. This began a journey discovering wellness that continues to this day.
I began to seek answers, about my health, and what I could do to heal myself. While the medical system diagnosed my issue, they gave me no real solutions whatsoever. I also had other concerns about how they seemed to operate in drugs and surgery the only model. I was surprised by the lack of basic answers to my questions, or any understanding of what could be contributing to my condition. I knew something was wrong, and that I could heal myself. This led me on a path of personal development, leading me to many teachers and methods, from a whole range of philosophies and approaches spanning the entire range of health, wellness, personal development, nutrition, and natural medicine. I quickly realized that natural health and a holistic approach were the way to go for me. I was finding answers that worked and made sense.
Thankfully I was able to heal my condition by incorporating what I learned, primarily through changing my lifestyle, diet and personal habits. I was also led to heal my relationships and develop my faith habits. It started with my mental health, learning to take responsibility for my life and developing a practice of self-care. I began to incorporate practices like visualization which naturally progressed to nutrition incorporating juicing, raw foods, and detoxification strategies. From there I have progressed over the years into popular topics like herbal medicine, energy healing, and intermittent fasting. It has been quite the journey with plenty of detours and the work never ends. Every time I fall off track I learn something important and new to incorporate into my life. That is something my parents have taught me, that no matter what happens in life, you can always learn from it, you can always improve your condition.
About ten years ago I had the opportunity to be mentored by an amazing Naturopathic Doctor, a woman who was helping my father heal a health condition. She was an angel who took me under her wing and showed me the ropes so to speak. This began a process of taking my study of these topics to a professional level, digging deeper into the science and methods of natural health. Being that I learned what I had through my quest to heal myself, it was natural to use it to help others. From this point I started to accelerate my experience, working with more practitioners spanning the entire range of health, medicine, and nutrition. I started integrating herbs, essential oils, earth based minerals, and elements and learning about the formulation of nutritional supplements and products, which is what led to what I do now. As a student of natural health, I have learned primarily through my experiments, in the laboratory of my body.
As I have progressed, I have begun to formalize my knowledge of the subjects and research, learning then from my interactions with clients. Over time I have gravitated to certain products, like herbal supplements, greens products, minerals and earth elements like clays. The reason is science and because they work. The more I have learned about these substances, the more fascinated I am about their potential. Nature is amazing that way. By working with my colleagues in natural health, I have started to become inspired to create products of my own. Discovering unique sources of materials which are extremely pure and potent, and finding new ways to use and apply them, is one of my passions. This is what has led me to where I am today.
I, along with my business partner, an entrepreneur in the natural products industry, have started a new wellness product company called Radiant Earth. We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There have been many challenges and struggles along the way. While it seemed like on the surface I had a perfect life, deep down I had a lot of pain and heart break. Trying to find meaning and purpose in life is not always easy, especially in the times I grew up in. Trying to fit in, while being uniquely you is the challenge.
Being diagnosed with a rare health condition at 16 was a huge wake-up call. In the beginning, I was very angry. I began to start playing a victim narrative as if there was nothing I could do. Thankfully my parents encouraged me to see it as an opportunity, and something that I can learn from.
While I healed myself early on, I still had life’s struggles. Things do not always progress in an even incline, there are many peaks and valleys along the way. I had times in between when I fell completely off track, gained weight, gave in to old habits, and learned many lessons. Looking back at it, most of my life struggles were self-created, the result of self-sabotaging behaviors. While it’s happening at the moment, it is not always easy to see, and it can be really painful. Feeling stuck emotionally has been one of the big challenges. Comparing myself to others, and dealing with my expectations. Sometimes it can feel impossible to get yourself out of that place, especially if you were not taught how to do it.
In my professional career, I have learned a lot, mainly through the examples of others. I have worked with a decent amount of natural health practitioners, including popular ones, and learned many of the Do and Do not in this field. I have seen people learn the hard way what happens when you do not have your operation set upright, and when you get into areas that are beyond your scope. It is also important to empower clients to take responsibility for their own health, and that you can not fix other people. All you can do is share and guide them. I know I have been in these positions of seeing this happen so I will never have to go through what they have. Thankfully we live in a changing world, still, we have to remain vigilant, especially in the natural, alternative and holistic health fields.
Tell us about your company. What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of as a company? What sets you apart from others?

Luck is an interesting subject. In some sense, we are just lucky to be alive. I think when we remind ourselves of this daily, it increases our experience of this thing we called luck.
A famous quote by Seneca and others is that “Luck is when preparedness meets opportunity”. I believe that this is very true. I also believe luck is what happens when you develop a faith practice, like meditation and more specifically prayer. This is the invisible factor, the difference that makes a difference. Some call it the law of attraction, but it also requires one to be humble and hand over the power to God who in my mind is the ultimate source of it all. The more I have cultivated my deep daily prayer and giving thanks and praise, the more luck shows up in my life on every level.
We know we live in a field of energy and that our thoughts affect this vibrational field. When we use this power, then luck arrives. I am very thankful that my business partner and I are on the same page. We utilize our faith practices as a primary tool for everything in our business. If we ever have a challenge, question or need some guidance, we pray. This has never failed us. It has led us to sustainable growth and just keeps getting better. The alignment is powerful.
