Meet Brianna Alexander of BriannaFIT in La Jolla

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Alexander.

Brianna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It is possible to have an underlying knowledge of good health and nutrition, as I felt I did, and still fail to create a diet and lifestyle that supports beauty inside and out. That was me. I had always worked out hard and had included food in my diet that I assumed to be good for me. In addition, I would go to the gym with the wrong mindset. It was because I thought I “needed to go” and less of out of love for my body.

About a year and a half ago, I met a personal trainer that inspired me to change my life forever. She exposed me to new ways to train and set me on a diet plan to prepare for my first NPC (National Physique Committee) bikini competition. I watched my body change before my eyes and I became obsessed. The gym became my happy place and I became fascinated with counting macronutrients to fit my goals. I wanted to learn more. I became ACE (American Council on Exercise) certified the summer of 2016 to find out more about training my body.

I soon realized I needed to share what I knew with others that were in the same rut as I was with their health and fitness. I have been a full-time personal trainer ever since. I am passionate about my clients and throw my heart into getting them to their goals.

My successes with training clients so far has inspired me to expand my outreach beyond my immediate clientele at The La Jolla Sports Club where I currently train one-on-one clients, to also training clients online. I design personalized programs and motivate others to prove that anything is possible. You just need the right program, support, and love for your body.

Has it been a smooth road?
It was a struggle for me to move across the country from Charleston, SC where I started my training career, back to my hometown in sunny San Diego, CA. I got rid of a majority of my large belongings, packed up my life in a small U-haul, and drove from coast to coast.

Starting my new career in a new city was challenging at first, but I quickly networked with valuable people in the area such as Lindsay Sherry, owner of Real Healing Nutrition, who became my mentor when it came to my clients’ nutrition as well as my own.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with BriannaFIT – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am an ACE certified personal trainer and I specialize in aesthetic training, strength and toning, and group training. My fitness background started in NPC competition training and achieving an overall balanced look for the body, so improving the booty has always been a priority of mine.

I recently started working with clients specifically with glute training, and I would go as far as to say that booty work has become one of my better-known specialties. I am a huge follower of Ph.D. Bret Contreras, or the “glute guy,” who specializes in glute hypertrophy, and I will blend his methods with my own approach to tone, lift, and/or grow the booty.

I just started offering a group training class “Booty Bootcamp” at the La Jolla Sports Club that is being offered all summer long to really shape and maintain that bikini booty everyone wants to have. The goal is to leave everyone with a killer lower body, increased lean muscle mass, functional strength, flexibility, and balance. It is held every Tuesday at 5:00 pm and Friday at 11:00 am, no membership is necessary, and childcare is offered upon purchase.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love San Diego because it has so much to offer. It is a city with a world-class beer scene, a huge selection of outdoor activities, and summers that look like they were taken out of a vacation commercial. There is a reason why I came back to my hometown where I grew up because this city is really hard to stay away from for too long.

I generally feel like the people here are interested in looking for the new best thing in health and fitness, and activities that are geared toward self-improvement. My specialty fits right in that same genre and is why I feel so fortunate to be able to live in this city and share my passion with others.
