Meet Brianna Astleford of Etched By Bri in North County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Astleford.

Brianna, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always been a creative entrepreneur at heart and since I can remember, I have this really bad habit of always having my hands in everything. The minute I saw a new business opportunity arise; I’d chase it with everything I had in me. I started out having my own photography business and I would collaborate with brands, shooting their products and that aspect of my photography business began to grow.

Moving now into etching, I work for the company/manufacturer of the sandblasting cabinet. Working closely with the machines and the customer service behind it, I fell in love with the process and the art of etching substrates. I eventually made my investment, bought a cabinet and the rest is history! I am able to express creative heart in my pieces and its pure joy!

Has it been a smooth road?
Like every business, it has its ups and downs… but it is something I am passionate about so that is one thing that keeps me going.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Etched By Bri is a brand that provides personalized glass and drinkware. I have several collections that are staple but the beauty about my brand is that pieces are customizable. I also have several customers that place bulk orders, for their teams or parties. I am most proud of the creative and uniqueness that my brand allows someone to have, meaning that not a single piece I make has to look the same, creatively speaking! It allows each of my customers to put something cute, quirky or even classy on a substrate that is personal.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I believe San Diego is a GREAT place to launch a small business. Lucky for those of us in the San Diego or socal area, we have the luxury of having a heavily saturated entrepreneurship community that it is really easy to make friends with other business owners. Having a community behind you and making yourself friendly allows you to build connections that could open big doors for your business! My advice would be too don’t be afraid to ask for help and always make yourself available to learn from others.
