Meet Britney Bjork of Olive & Fig Graze

Today we’d like to introduce you to Britney Bjork.

Britney, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Olive & Fig was created as an outlet for me in the beginning of the pandemic. I was working at sharp memorial four west (trauma). Wanting to do something to cheer me and others up during a chaotic time. Suggesting ideas to my mom and co-workers on starting my own business, but didn’t know what I would do. My mom decided she wanted to open her own business as well and encouraged me to try charcuterie. Creating aesthetically pleasing and delicious tasting meat & cheese boards. I did some trial runs with friends and family and many approved of the concepts I had. So one day, I took a leap of faith and decided to pursue creating cheeseboards full time! It was the best decision I have made so far because it has made so many happy. I chose the name Olive & Fig because my mom’s business is Fig&Olive. Together we make the perfect mother and daughter team. Always helping each other improve and always creating things together. It’s something that is special to us.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has been challenging at times because I am very meticulous on how I want my business to be displayed. The packaging and little details are what really get me in my element but it can also backfire as it takes me weeks to decide over one change. The right type of box or bow on the box is important to me. I feel like Presentation is everything.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Olive & Fig is known for their charcuterie boxes. I use a clear lid box with a white base so that it looks clean. Something simple as that really catches the eye. I’m most proud of how Olive & Fig has grown. So many amazing people have believed in me and supported me. Appreciated that I took the time to create beautiful and tasty charcuterie boxes/boards/trays for them.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I’m happy when others are happy! I am definitely someone who puts others before myself. I love seeing husbands order for their wives and taking them on dates with my boxes. Or when a happy birthday box really puts a smile to that person’s face. It’s the littlest gestures that mean so much.
